To this day, Elvis still holds the record for the most Top Forty Hits with 107, the most Top Ten Hits with 38, and the most consecutive #1 Hits with 10, and a fabulous 80 Weeks at #1. Elvis also starred in 33 different movies making him not only a legend in the music world but television as well.
Some of Elvis's greatest hits were 'I Want You, I need You, I Love You', 'Heartbreak Hotel', 'Hound Dog', ' Jail House Rock', 'All Shook Up' and many, many more.
On August 16th, 1977, Elvis Presley was found dead, slumped over his toilet in his Graceland Mansion. Cause of death was reported to be "cardiac arrhythmia" and "severe cardiovascular disease by medical examiner Dr. Jerry Francisco.
After his death, Elvis Presley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on January 23rd, 1986.
Elvis's home in Graceland has been opened as a public museum. Graceland sees several hundred visitors a day. It still has its original décor including the 70's look and white shag carpet. However, Elvis's bedroom is off limits to everyone! Maids and groundskeepers are not even allowed to go to his room. Pricilla is the only person known to have rights to go into his bedroom. Elvis, his mother and a few other relatives are buried in the back of Graceland. Thousands of flowers, bears, and statues have been left for them at their graves. The graves are part of the tour when visiting Graceland.
While Elvis Presley is no longer alive, his legend lives on. Today, all around the world Elvis is still known as "The King of Rock and Roll" and still sales a huge number of records.

Elvis was born January 8, 1935, he would have been 74 today!!!!
What? Elvis Lives!!! :) Great article, and great tribute. I was nine years old when he died, but Elvis, Gene Pitney, Gary Puckett, Herman's Hermits, and many more were staples for me. Thanks for the reminder.
Rarely listened to him, but my mother and father went on their first date on the exact night he died, so he's linked to me in that important way.
