Walking down that dark lonely street
With only a street light
To guide her way home
There he was
Standing in the corner across the street
Watching her
Pass him by
Flashes of memories
Invaded his mind
To a time
When they walked together
And this street was not quite
As lonely as this night
Ember romance is what they shared
Like cinder sparked up smoldering hot
Tindling were the pieces that brewed this mad love affair
Warmth filled their beings, like that first comforting drink of coffee
after a hazy night of dreams
His eyes met hers and it played out over and again.
The nights they shared.
His fingertips tracing the outline of her lips.
Her eyes closed.
She took him in.
And their passion grew.
With each movement, bringing them closer
With each touch.
Whispers ,in her ear.
With her face held in his hands.
Eye to eye.
A crashing gaze.
You are beautiful
I am in awe of you
Mesmerized.
Captivated by you.
Star crossed lovers they were.
Nothing mattered in those moments,
They shared together,
exploring down to the depths,
of each other's soul.
Unscathed was their accord.
Burning sensations of hope of healing,
was their prayer.
With each kiss.
Each caress of pure love.
The incandescent crackles of light
Illuminated and radiated their desire for each other.
Their fire burned bright abolishing the darkness of
a lonely existence they once felt.
Her eyes met his, smoldering loud was the expression of what she felt.
So strong at times, she could feel her heart on the brink of implosion.
Caving in.
As she remembered, how he filled her up when he cradled her with the soothing sounds
of his voice. She remembered, he kissed her until all fears would subside.
There was a time, In between them was no space.
As close as they were, like two hands rubbing against each other.
To stay warm.
They were dripping of glistening sweat over sweaty body.
Nothing could detach them from their own reality.
Two minds of the same dream.
Two hearts of the same hunger.
Two bodies that melted into each other.
His touch loved every inch of her.
Her lips grazed every part of him.
Words were the byproduct ...the result
to keep this fire alive.
Captivation.
Inspiration.
Intoxication.
Pure.
Love.
A harsh wind gusted through that street.
Her hands holding back her hair from the sight of him.
His gaze pierced through her like the thundering lightning
that lit up the sky.
She could hold his stare no longer.
And the fire that brewed between them although had long since died down to mere ashes.
There still remained a few pieces of cinder.
Down deep at the bottom of all the debris...beneath the ashes
That still had that glow.
Burning.
White-hot within their souls.
She took a step away.
His heart leaped outside of himself.
Longing for a second chance to rekindle the flame they once knew.
Before he could open his mouth
...she was gone.
