Embers of a Fallen Star

TV Show Review: The 4400

They're afraid of me. I was once like them, and then everything changed. I'm trying to take back that life that I left behind, but they won't let me. They're afraid of what I have become, but am I that different? All I want is to be left alone, but they will give me no peace. Can't they understand that I was ripped away from those that I loved, lost in oblivion, and those years are now gone? But they sent me back, but how am I supposed to live? And what fate waits for me in the end?

Soft beeps drifted through the air, finding silence holding its breath, but his eyes remained shut. Pale skin glistened under fluorescent light, and the promise of youth washed away into tragedy. His life hung by a thread, dangling across a thin web of mystery, but there were no answers as to why he now rested here. And the only one that could bring him back remained gone without a trace, and there was nothing left to do but wait. And he prayed that a miracle would return his son to him, but time told him different. But how could he give up and walk away, leaving him behind in this hospital room? No, he would find a way to bring him back, but what price would he have to pay?

I love you. Their words rained through the air, strumming across the chords of fear, but they were ready. They were ready for the end, but hope shined in brilliance like a shooting star heading straight for them. And what they thought was the end was the explosion of a new beginning, a new world, but were they ready? Or was their extinction still at hand?

Droplets of tears fell gently into the pool of time. Innocence floated across the surface, but depth told of the knowledge kept hidden inside. Time was the cruel hand that swept her life, her love away, and she was now held in a world that did not belong to her. But she was caught, drifting across unknown territory, but would she remain sinking beneath solitude? Or would someone come and lift her up, and could they keep her safe? Or did a dangerous future remain lingering close in sight, changes that would alter the course of history, and would past mistakes become undone to save lives that were doomed to be lost?

Time abandoned me here. Everything, everyone was gone, and there was no turning back to return to a life now buried. I don't belong here, but I can't leave. And my heart breaks of the news of her death, but I found her instead. Connection bound us together, breathing new life through tragedy, but how could we start over? The fear was growing, and danger found us at every corner that we turned. Would there be no peace for us, or would we have to go on the run to find it? But what if we can't escape our enemies that now hunt us down?

I tried. This life was no longer mine. I can't pretend that none of it ever happened. I was gone, missing, and then I returned with no memory or reason how. And I see how they look at me, and I tried to keep to myself. But they forced their way into my hands, and I took them down. But I never meant to hurt them, but I can't stay here. But where will I go, and how could I leave him behind? His life fell to me, but could I save him? And if I bring him back, would it still be him?

Hysteria was growing, and protests were on the rise. Nobody wanted them here, but there was nowhere else to go. And someone had to make a stand, prove that they were no threat, and that somebody was him, Jordan Collier. He reached out to those lost, drifting, and he pulled them together, making them stronger. But darkness lurked beneath good intentions, and manipulation danced at his fingertips. But only misunderstanding revealed underlying motives for change, control, and they slipped through his hands. But he would find them again, and the world would have to deal with them.

He was the answer, but did they want to know the truth? Were they ready for what lied beyond the brilliant light of mystery? Someone had to take a chance, but at what cost? What price would he pay to understand everything that has happened, and would death rip the life closest to his heart away? Or would the hand of time heal all wounds and ready the past for the war to come, but did their future remain dark? And were they too late to save the world?

The future. Dark horizons capture our gaze, and foreboding grips our heart. And fear whispers of extinction, but what if we could save survival? The doors of time rush open, pull us in, and chase away those dark, threatening clouds, but the future remains. But the fight for survival, humanity falls to the past, but would we know what was being asked of us? Or would we spin that wheel of fate, seeing where it lands, and would we destroy what we fear, denying all hope? Or would we take a chance, falling across a brilliantly spun web of drama and suspense, and rising higher to the fiery stars of Science-Fiction? Would conflicted characters hold our life in hand with passion and intrigue flowing from their eyes and flooding our hearts and minds, and would they sweep us off our feet and into lives forever changed? And would this rollercoaster ride hold us prisoner as we rise higher and higher, approaching that deadly drop, and falling fast into the arms of the 4400?
