Emerald Cove Resort is located in Earp, California but we really couldn't find Earp. I'd say its location is more in Parker than Earp. If you're coming from Los Angeles, you turn at Desert Center going straight 90 miles to Emerald Cove Resort. The address is 2715 Parker Dam Road. DON'T FORGET THE PARK OPERATES ON MOUNTAIN TIME even though it's on the west side of the river. I missed a few of the activities because I wasn't aware of this.
Emerald Cove Resort has the longest improved beach on the Colorado River. There's over one mile of pure sandy shoreline and palm trees that stud the campsites. We took our little rubber boat on the river and entered many channels winding in and out of the river which had some beautiful homes built right up to the river channels. It's truly something to see. Don't miss it if you have a little boat along with you. Fishing is available along with water skiing, boating, of course, along with rock hounding and off-road races nearby. You can lounge around their large covered pools. Yes, there are two of them with the open bar between the two pools. There's happy hours and very reasonable prices on their meals.
The resort IS one of my favorites!! We can't wait to return. We found the people to be extremely friendly and fun to spend some time with chatting, singing at the open bar and/or any of the activities offered in the clubhouse. I even sang karaoke and had the best time ever. It's truly a memorable resort.
Facilities include a bathhouse, beach area, clubhouse, game room, golf course, grocery store, laundry facilities, picnic area and shelter, playground, river snack bar, covered swimming pool and Jacuzzi, poolside bar and TV lounge. There's numerous planned activities plus area wide spectator events like boat shows, RV shows, the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, you have to see that, and the Quartzsite Gem Show. Oh, take a short little ride to Parker Dam. Very nice ride that takes you over the top of the dam. One rule strictly followed at this park: No stress allowed!
Besides all I've already mentioned, there's scheduled activities, shuffleboard, horseshoes, pool volleyball, dances, bingo, potlucks and crafts. Don't forget the "no stress" rule!
Ok, down to business. The resort guidelines are as follows: Existing resort rules apply. No off-road vehicles are allowed. Quiet time is between 10 pm and 6 am. Not hard to do. You must have least 7 days between visits. (This applies to RPI Preferred members not Colorado River Adventures Park members). RV sites are first come, first served between May 1 and August 31st. Peak season is December through March. During the peak season, CRA limits members to two reservations in their system at a time. To allow more members an opportunity to make reservations, travel must be completed on the first reservation before a second reservation is accepted. This is due to the popularity of their resorts during peak season. We were also told that the river sites are reserved for CRA members only. We're not CRA members so check with them but I think CRA members can stay 30 days at one time. Check with CRA on that.
To make a reservation: which is required, between September 1 and April 30, may be made up to 60 days in advance through RPI's central reservations office (CRA for those members). Drive-ups not accepted during this period. Holidays and holiday weekends are reserved for CRA members only.
Elevation is 400 feet; mail must be delivered to General Delivery in Parker, AZ 85344. They have 800 full sites - 0 partial and 0 dry. Maximum RV length is 40 feet; electricity is 30 amps, water at the sites and sewage at site with a dump station located in the park. They have no rental accommodations and RV sites only. Phone 760-663-3737. I'm not sure about WiFi but I am pretty sure it's available in the clubhouse. We have our own ATT Internet card so didn't need WiFi.
Don't miss this park. We will be going back this summer/fall and are so excited about our upcoming trip. Maybe this time going south, we can stay at other resorts and I can let you know my opinion of them as well. My next park to review is Colorado River Oasis Resort in Ehrenberg Arizona and found in the Enjoy America system.
