Emerald Kisses

Lisa R. Strong
Early spring arrives;
Heather grows on rolling hills;
Forty shades of green

I gaze at grey skies;
Good Saint Patrick, pray for me;
Soon I will be home;

Dreams of home and hearth;
This weary traveler lost;
Cottage made of stone;

My true love is there;
His emerald kisses shine;
Light upon my heart;

Peat flames burn so bright;
Angels sing to pipes playing;
Music fills my ears;

Against the dark sky;
I see chimney smoke pluming;
I am home at last.
