Eminem: Where is He Now

Marshall Mathers is a Rap artist from Detroit that became famous in 1999. He became known as the only Caucasian Rap artist and he used this to appeal to a new audience. He appealed to lower income teenagers by creating a feeling within his music that he is from the same place. Dr. Dre also produced his work and this helped him find an instant fan base. As a result, Eminem went on to sell millions of records and become one of the most popular artists to ever record a CD. His CD discography includes Slim Shady Lp, The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, Encore, Curtain Call, Relapse, Relapse: Refill, and Recovery. You can find the release dates and other information on Amazon. His best-known song to date is My Name Is; this was his first single and the material that was responsible for his initial success. He later expanded on this success with the hits Stan and The Way I Am. However, the downfall of Eminem occurred in 2005 after the release of his Curtain Call album. He totally removed himself from music and stopped recording songs. He would later state on his Relapse album that he had been battling an addiction to painkillers and drugs for years. It was these addictions that stopped him from making music and took away the love that he once felt for the recording process.

So where is Eminem now? He began his return to the musical world in 2009 with the release of his Relapse CD. He then followed up this release with Relapse: Refill at the end of 2009. More recently, Eminem has been working on the completion of his Recovery CD. This CD is now completed and released as of 6/21/2010 and the future looks bright. Eminem seems to be back to the glory that he once felt during his 1999 initial release. He also won a Grammy in 2010 for the best rap album of the year. During the show, he performed with Lil Wayne and Drake. It is interesting to see that Eminem is becoming adjusted to what music has become today. His lyrics seem more mature than 1999. However, Eminem seems like he has grown a lot during his time off and this is a good thing. The future is bright for Eminem and I hope there is more good music to come as a result.
