Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon Join 'Brideshead Revisited'

Two superb actors have teamed up with Miramax for their up coming film project 'Brideshead Revisited'. The actors are Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon.

'Brideshead Revisited' has a big budget of $20 million dollars, that will bring the classic novel by Evelyn Waugh to life on the big screen. The filming for 'Brideshead Revisited' will begin this June and will take place at a number of locations including, Yorkshire and Oxford in the UK and also Venice, Italy and Morocco.

Michael Gambon is set to play the role of Lord Marchmain, the father of main character, 'Sebasatian Flyte. Emma Thompson will play the estranged wife of Lord Marchmain. The Miramax film will be directed by Julian Jarrold, who's most recent film is 'Becoming Jane', a story about the life of writer Jane Austen.

'Brideshead Revisted' takes places in the years leading up to WWII.

This is not the first time the classic novel has be adapted for screens. In the 1980s a TV drama was created that stared Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons. The success of the TV drama was immense and it is still consider to be one of the best ever created.

Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon are best known for a number of roles. Harry Potter fans around the world will be familiar with both actors. Michael Gambon took over the role Hogwarts headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, for the third film, 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban', after the sad death of legendary actor, Richard Harris. Emma Thompson has been doing a fantastic job of playing the nutty Professor Sybil Trelawney in the Harry Potter films.

Besides her excellent acting in the Harry Potter films Emma Thompson also made a great impression in the film adaptation of Jane Austen's, 'Sense and Sensibility', where she brought Elinor Dashwood to life. In more recent years Emma Thompson has played roles in the brilliant black comedy, 'Stranger Than Fiction' and the popular romantic comedy, 'Love Actually'. The next appearance on the big screen for Emma Thompson will be this July when the fifth Harry Potter movie, 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' is released in theatres around the world.

Michael Gambon is a renowned British stage actor that has also played roles in a number of successful films. Besides the Harry Potter movies Michael Gambon has played roles in, 'The Good Shepherd', 'Layer Cake' and 'Gosford Park'.

'Brideshead Revisited is currently expected to be released in 2008.
