Emma Watson and Life After Harry Potter

Emma Watson, now 21, is looking forward to life after Harry Potter. Famed for her role as Hermione Granger, best friend to Harry Potter in the popular series, the actress revealed she doesn't know who she is and that she has had little control over her life before now.

Now is her time to step out of the role of Hermione, although it very closely resembles who she really is as a person, and begin researching new roles as well as new experiences in her personal life off the screen. We may now see many great and unexpected things from the young, fresh-faced Emma Watson.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, Watson explains what life has been like for her as the highly popular Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series. While she is one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood (earning $30 million each for her last two Potter films), it hasn't been easy for the young star.

"I have had no control over my life," she blurts out. "I have lived in a complete bubble. They found me and picked me for the part. And now I'm desperately trying to find my way through it."

When she tried out for the part in Harry Potter, she and her parents had no idea how large the franchise would become nor how much time of her life it would consume. But true to her character, much like that of Hermione she played, Emma was a perfectionist. She devoted herself to doing everything she did to the best of her ability.

Now that her stint with Potter is coming to a close, she's rediscovering who she really is. She dabbling in new (and different) acting roles, designing clothing, modeling and more. She has an appreciation for art and writing and she even spent two years at Brown University. Watson has no plans to end her quest for further education but will be attending a school closer to home.

Opinionated and independent, Emma has not allowed Hollywood to cloud her judgment. She is her own woman and now, just after her 21st birthday, she will have the chance to figure out who that really is.

One example of Emma's influence is her impact on new designers such as Hakaan Yildirim and Erdem Moralioglu. Emma said to Vogue, "I thought, If people are going to write about what I'm wearing, then I would wear young British designers who need the publicity."
