Emma Watson Underwear Photos: 'At Least I was Wearing Underwear,' Said Emma on Letterman

As most of the world now knows, the lovely young actress Emma Watson had something of a wardrobe malfunction at the London premiere of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." Her split skirt somehow came apart in the pouring rain and revealed a pair of flesh-colored panties. Wardrobe malfunctions are becoming increasingly more common. Emma Watson joins a rather long list of comely young celebrities who have been caught with their knickers down (or nearly down) - the list includes Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Janet Jackson, Lil' Kim and Tara Reid.

But Emma Watson has handled her wardrobe malfunction with grace and wit. The 19-year-old British beauty appeared on "Late Night with David Letterman" and, after some prodding from Dave, discussed her embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.

"This was a small wardrobe malfunction that happens," Emma told Dave. "I don't actually remember it happening."

Emma then noted that her wardrobe malfunction - and the Emma Watson underwear photos that it spawned - is not nearly as graphic as some of the photographs of other actresses that have gone viral on the web (think Britney Spears).

"At least I was wearing underwear," insisted Emma. (Thus, the Emma Watson wardrobe malfunction could have been a lot worse for her and a lot better for some of her fans - particularly those of the red-blooded male persuasion.)

Emma Watson also noted that she is still in the process of learning how to conduct herself as a hot young high-profile actress (especially on the red carpet!). "I'm learning, I'm learning," said Emma.

Interestingly, Emma Watson will also be doing some learning at an institution of higher learning. She told Dave that she plans to attend a U.S. college this fall, but did not specify which one.

Of course, Emma Watson's main purpose for appearing on "Late Night with David Letterman" was not to discuss the Emma Watson wardrobe malfunction, but rather to promote her new movie, the aforementioned "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." She plays the role of Hermione Granger in the Potter films.

The film, which is the sixth installment in the enormously successful Harry Potter series, will be released on July 15.
