Emmy Gift Bags to Contain Homegrown Indiana Water
Walnut Springs is located near the small Greene County town of Bloomfield and is owned by M. Duane Smith and Leslie K. Smith. The Smiths were looking for a place to grow a few persimmon trees in their golden years when they purchased the farm back in 1997. They discovered the spring, and decided to do some water quality testing on it. They opened Walnut Grove Spring Water in 2005.
The clean and pure spring, which is estimated to be 15,000 years old, now provides around 100 gallons a day for the bottling. The spring could provide more water than that, but the Smiths prefer to draw only a portion of what could be provided by the spring to help preserve the source.
The water isn't the only thing special, the bottles help add a special touch. The bottles are real glass and have a flip top metal cap, which is quite unique. A true Indiana business this is as the bottles, labels and workers are all acquired locally.
Emmy attendees are in for a special treat, as the company is offering a free 6-month supply (a case of water a month) in their homes, in addition to the bottle in the bag.
