Not a Snub Story

When I first heard that "Mad Men" ruled the Emmy nominations, I went with it in my headline, as did many. Then, I stopped and said, "wait." From what I see "Mildred Pierce" is tops with 21 nominations. Oh, I get it, "Mad Men" is tops for series, and for that matter, drama series.

You could also note that "Modern Family" ruled, too, with 17, but in the comedy category - - for a series. After all, "Boardwalk Empire" has 18.

Here's the list: "Mildred Pierce" - 21

"Mad Men" - 19

"Boardwalk Empire" - 18

"Modern Family" - 17

"Saturday Night Live" - 16

"Game of Thrones" - 13 "30 Rock" - 13

Notes: Ha, "The Kennedys" is in despite being bumped from the History channel. Jane Lynch has a nom and is the host. I feel she will not win this year. All the actors from "Justified" are in but not the show. "Friday Night Lights" takes its Emmy nomination success to ESPN. And: I do not do snub stories anymore (too many people do them now); I will focus on what they got right and wrong, not snubbed, as I have been doing with the Oscars of late; Right: Jane Lynch as host and a nominee; "GLEE" is right but it is not a comedy; "Big Bang" blows; "The Office" by default I suppose; the Kennedy thing is in, which was banned (A Reagan movie like that would have not been); everyone is focusing on "Community," but not me; if I cared about snubs, go with "The Middle"; they changed the characters and it worked as Kathy Bates gets in; "Playboy Club" cannot be another "Mad Men" because it's on NBC (think about that one). They cannot get away with what the other show can because of the network it is on.

BEST DRAMA SERIES: "Boardwalk Empire" - "Dexter" - "Friday Night Lights" - "Game Of Thrones" - "The Good Wife" - "Mad Men"

BEST COMEDY SERIES: "The Big Bang Theory" - "Glee" - "Modern Family" - "The Office" - "Parks And Recreation" - "30 Rock"...
