Emmy Opening Number 2010 is Met with Glee

Emmy opening number 2010 rumors had built up all weekend. Once the Emmy opening number 2010 premiered, however, the Emmy opening exceeded most of the early hype. Since host Jimmy Fallon is fond of doing musical homages, and since Glee was among the big contenders, they were bound to join up together. But Fallon and the Gleeks received some help from TV's other big names and nominees. As such, the Emmy opening number 2010 set the early bar for a more well received show than usual.

Fallon joined forces with Glee stars Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Corey Monteith and Amber Riley to start off. Although Glee was among the most nominated shows, the sketch had the kids unable to get into the theater. To change that, they had to win another regionals competition, and Fallon made sure they got some help.

The Emmy opening number 2010 was a star studded affair, as the likes of Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Jorge Garcia, Joel McHale, Randy Jackson and more popped by to sing and dance. Of course, Betty White had to make a cameo, and of course, Jane Lynch had to slushie the group. Even Kate Gosselin tried to get in the act, but the club brushed past her.

Once the group was fully formed, the Emmy opening number 2010 turned into a Glee-esq rendition of Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run" In the end, all of the participants even came on stage to finish the song live - with Lynch naturally still in a track suit.

Last year, Neil Patrick Harris got things started with a song of his own, and got a lot of raves. However, the Emmy opening number 2010 was more of an ensemble affair, thanks to Fallon and Glee. Fallon has spoofed Glee numerous times on his late night show, but last night was his most extensive parody.

Although the sketch spoofed the year's most publicized new series, Glee had better luck with the opening than with the rest of the Emmys. Despite another attention grabbing moment, Modern Family was still the big winner in the awards - and had their own parody sketch later in the night.

Still, the Emmy opening number 2010 provided a lot of buzz to start things off. In fact, the show in general got good marks, since it ended on time and had some new and unexpected winners. Fallon may not have Harris's level of praise for hosting, yet he wasn't considered a big step down - mostly due to how he started off.

Since there aren't as many Emmy complaints as usual, Fallon can take a victory lap when he returns to his late night time shot. Meanwhile, the Emmy opening number 2010 will be the last Glee number for a while, before the new season premieres on September 21.
