Emotional Abuse Scars

Your Fragile Ego Will Magnify Any Perceived Threat

Often, the family environment is the soil from which prejudice and bullying, or the fortunate lack of it, will sprout. Being hurt by the ones you love forces one to develop a thick skin to survive, the same thick skin which will prevent you from expressing and accepting the loving you need as an adult.

The deep emotional scars may never heal, and follow us to the grave. If someone is born with a sensitive emotional disposition, your fragile ego will magnify any perceived threat or hurt way out of proportion. Real possibilities for long-lasting companionship and love will be treated as suspect. It may take a severe mid-life crisis or the death of parents to finally turn our battered self esteem around

It is a good thing that lalely bullying has been in the news, raising awareness of how in extreme cases it can drive desperate people to take their own life. Nobody should live a miserable life in fear.
