Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Can Work

Diane Cross
EFT means Emotional Freedom Techniques. This is a new holistic cure that is based on the belief that the wrong emotions can hinder the flow of positive energy within our bodies. This new technique is similar to acupuncture except that one uses tapping to stimulate the main meridian points in the body. Tapping these points even lightly causes stimulation of these main meridian points (some call them chakra) and therefore helps the smooth flow of the right energy in your body. The right flow thus causes to the body to heal itself and to function as it should. However outrageous EFT sounds I does work in most cases like fatigue, headaches and what some may call minor aches and pains. Some however swear that it has healed "bigger" diseases like asthma, migraines and even tumors and Cancers. We do not suggest that you try this as an alternative cure to these diseases that require close medical supervision and treatment.

I tried EFT for stress and a headache and it worked. At first I felt rather awkward and could not help laughing but after I tried completely the tapping, I definitely felt better.

This is the way I practice EFT : When I feel tense or a headache, I sit down and begin to first tap the top of my head using my three fingers. Then I proceed to tap the middle of my forehead. Then the spot in between the eyes.

After than tap (using both fingers of two hands) down the eye, where the sinuses are located. After which I tap the upper part of the lip below the nose, then the chin.

After the chin one taps the collarbone and the inner upper part of the forearm. One ends the tapping session by tapping the edges of your thumb.

At first glance this practice looks strange but there are just too many documented news (including one from CNN and Fox ) that swear that this method works. Also, from personal experience, one feels better after a five minute tapping "cure" and anything that doesn't harm and helps.

It is like acupuncture but there are no needles. The EFT statement merely sums up its main statement: "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

To normalize the circulation of positive (and presumably curative ) energies, tapping is a means to "unclog" whatever is wrong within the meridian points.
This could definitely make sense when one considers Albert Einstein's view that negative emotions are the main contributors of diseases and pains in the body.

Memorizing the tapping points is relatively easy. Do it twice or thrice and you get the idea and you begin to do it automatically. To make the EFT work even better, there should be positive acceptance of the "problem". Thus if you have a headache, you can do EFT (tapping) while acknowledging : "Even if I have this headache, I completely and totally accept myself and I am feeling better" or something like a positive statement .

EFT has been criticized but the proof of the pudding in the eating. Of something works and makes one feel better, I say TRY it.
