Well, some of us. I'd like to go over a few of my few of my most prominent reasons for voluntarily leaving employment.
It's Just Too Sexy in the Workplace
I can handle a bit of cleavage, and I can handle a bit of leg, but what I can't handle is my boss turning a professional working environment into a window shopping harem. I treat women with the utmost respect, and I find it outrageous that women would try to look so attractive. As a man, I put the minimal amount of effort possible into my morning ritual. My co-workers are lucky if my shave is even, and even luckier if I remembered to wear deodorant. Please ladies and gentlemen, keep it professional.
The Customer is Always Right
Anyone who has worked in retail can tell you the customer is almost never right. Who really is always right? God? Customers in the retail world have a severe God complex where they no longer view fellow humans as equals, and instead as indentured retail servants to bow to their every immature whim and need. Customers in a retail environment are the closest a grown person can return to childhood without biologically regressing.
Lunchbox or Lunchroom?
It is extremely important in this dog-eat-dog world to achieve a set of diplomas that prove one is more qualified than the next Joe-Schmoe. Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made in the professional world in order to continue. One step backwards leads to two step forwards in this case, nothing in the entire world is a better investment than a good education.
Callous Co-Workers
The worst working environments can be a hostile one. It's important to maintain a friendly and positive atmosphere for everyone involved. Unfortunately the workplace is no utopia, and paradise can quickly turn into purgatory. Sometimes a hostile working environment just isn't worth the price of employment.
You Just Aren't Happy
Being happy and satisfied should be the most important thing in your life. Everyone has needs: some need to support a family, some are living paycheck by paycheck. If you really aren't happy with your current job, never lack the courage to stand up for yourself and make the changes to improve yourself.
