Encouraging Verses from the Bible and God

The Top Encouraging Bible Verses

Rebecca Livermore
In spite of the fact that some people think that the Bible is full of doom and gloom or that God is out to get us, in reality, the Bible is an incredibly encouraging book, filled with hope and encouragement. Though this article will only scratch the surface of encouraging verses from the Bible, the encouraging Bible verses below are some of my favorites.

Encouraging Verses from the Bible about God's Provision

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19 NIV).

We often stress out over financial concerns, and it's not uncommon to worry about where money for necessities is going to come from, particularly in times of unemployment or underemployment or when life throws us curveball in some other way. This verse is a great reminder that God will supply everything we need (not want, mind you!) out of His abundant resources.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33 NIV).

The best way to make sure we get all we need is to focus first and foremost on God and doing His will and as a result of that, all of our needs will be met as well.

Encouraging Verses from the Bible about Peace

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV).

We are guaranteed that God will give us peace as long as we keep our mind focused on Him.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27 NKJV).

Peace is a gift promised to us by Jesus himself. It is completely different from the peace that the world gives which is largely dependent on circumstances. Because of God's peace, there is no reason to be troubled or afraid.

Encouraging Verse from the Bible about God's Favor

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31 NKJV).

This is a great verse to call to mind when people are plotting against you or when you've been misunderstood or are receiving unfair treatment of any kind.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD (Isaiah 54:17 NKJV).

This is another excellent and encouraging Bible verse, particularly when people are talking about you behind your back or bringing false charges against you. Rest assured that the plans against you will not succeed and ultimately you will have the victory, even if it doesn't seem like it at times.

Encouraging Verses from the Bible about Success

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV).

Hands down this is probably my favorite encouraging verse from the Bible particularly when I'm anxious about my future and wonder about whether or not what I do will be successful. God is looking toward my future with hope, and so can I!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13 NKJV).

This is a great verse to call to mind when the task before you seems to be beyond you or more than you can handle As a result of the strength God provides to us through Christ, we can do whatever he has set before us.

Now that's encouraging!

Rebecca, I didn't know you'd been writing here again for a while. Then due to an AC glitch, they unsubscribed me from everyone! If you write this year, I will re-subscribe. Let me know. Great article.
