Energize Your Home with Landscaping

Fire, water, wood, metal and earth: these are the five natural elements. A lot of effort is placed on using these elements inside a home and incorporating them in the decor. Thinking about these five elements is a good place to start when you plan to use and incorporate them in the design of the living spaces outdoors or if you just want to to energize the atmosphere outside, around your house.

Using landscaping to create harmony around your home is often overlooked by many who concentrate a good deal of effort on creating positive energy inside their home. There are places and areas outside your home that can add energy to your life as you are on your way to the front door.

Take into account the approach to your home. The use of red flowers for the fire element and having black furniture or a black mailbox or black fencing will bring the water element to mind. Also, if you can have fountains or small pools in front of your house, then more energy will be added as you come to the front door. As you survey your outdoor situation, take some time to be creative and imagine the place you could place angels or Buddhas or any outdoor sculpture.

Energy draining things like neighbors, or perhaps a great deal of traffic can be offset by using element colors at the door which is your main entrance. You can paint your door blue, for the calming effect of water, or red, for the warmth of fire. As mentioned, Buddhas, enclosed candles and wood elements, such as a small palm tree, are good "front door" options. Being creative about what and where to use these elements is part of the excitement of landscape energy.

If you have a backyard space, then that too can be used to enhance the energy of your living space. With more privacy available, you can bring a greater presence of fire, water, wood, metal and earth to being. Hanging emblems, wind chimes, a short trail with meditation halts can be energy building items. One creative person used a "visual" trail where he simply looked at each symbol and then visualized his energy growth, all without leaving his back stoop.

With landscaping adding to the energy of the inside of your living space, you will be able to feel the extra energy available. Moreover, over time, you will find new and exciting ways to add elements themselves or elemental colors to your total energy.
