I visited Energysavers.gov awhile back and started a series of low-cost and free updates to my home. I also took the advice to purchase an ENERGY STAR washer and dryer when my old ones finally died. I am saving money off my electric bill every month. This makes the cash for appliances program a sweet deal.
As a result of learning about the latest green developments at Energysavers, gov, I use energy efficient light bulbs and have the thickest possible insulation in my house. Windows are sealed and I am trying to remember to unplug appliances after use.
The cash for appliances rebate described at Energysavers.gov varies from state to state. It is definitely a worthwhile government program while it lasts. If it is anything like Cash for Clunkers, people should act fast. The program runs until February 21.
