Engaging in College Activities: How it Benefits You

Do you go to a university as a student or graduate? If so, have you considered participating in at least one of the campus events at some point? You should participate in one of the activities at least one time. You will learn top reasons for getting involved in college activities.

The First One: It can help you develop. It can help you build useful skills to apply to the business world.

The Second One: It can pay dividends for you socially. For example, you will increase your chances for meeting a lot of other people and developing friendships by coming into contact with others a lot.

The Third One: This is a chance for you to show off and impress others. Once you do something worthwhile in a volunteer capacity, you can boast, "Look at me! I just did something big around here."

The Fourth One: It can enable you to have an impact. You can help out your school and the community, especially if you are helping out with an event that is meant to raise awareness or funds for a particular cause.

The Fifth One: It can do wonders for your self-esteem. You will surely feel a sense of purpose as a result of getting involved.

The Sixth One: It can improve your prospects for getting a job interview. Some recruiters are impressed with those who do extracurricular or volunteer activities and will be more inclined to contact you for an interview if this is shown on your resume.

The Seventh One: It might help your grades or grade point average. Some professors might provide extra credit or college credit hours for doing community work.

The Eighth One: It can give you something to do. Once you get started, you will have a hard time being bored and saying there is nothing to do at your school.

The Eleventh One: It can boost your emotional health. It is natural to feel good about yourself and be happy when you volunteer your services.

The Twelfth One: It can help you become a leader. Taking charge while engaging in activities can help you develop leadership skills.
