England Vs. USA World Cup 2010 TV Schedules & Significance

U.S. 2010 World Cup Coverage Improves - Live & on Location

Tamara McRill
The U.S.A. and England haven't faced off on World Cup turf in 60 years. The American soccer team was the victor of that 1950 match, beating England 1-0. On Saturday, June 12, the countries are the first Group C action for the 2010 World Cup.

England vs. USA World Cup 2010 TV Schedule

The England vs. the United States World Cup coverage is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EST, on ABC stations. Since the match is broadcasting on ABC, other ESPN television and online stations will not be showing live game coverage.

England vs. U.S.A. scheduled television coverage will begin with a pre-game show. The broadcast is sure to cover the history between the two soccer teams, players to watch for and each team's chances of a victory.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.

There will be halftime coverage and a half hour live post-game coverage. The wrap-up coverage is to include game analysis, highlights and interviews.

Martin Tyler, soccer authority and famed Sky Sports personality, will be the lead commentator for the England vs. U.S.A. match.

World Cup 2010 Commentary Scheduled Live

ESPN has stated that all World Cup 2010 pre-game, halftime and post-game coverage will be broadcast live and on location, from the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, in Rustenburg, South Africa. This coverage will be given for every game, not just the England vs. U.S. match. This shows a deeper level of commitment to 2010 World Cup coverage on the networks behalf, as some 2006 coverage was broadcast from studios in the U.S.

Having Tyler as lead commentator also shows ESPN's desire to get it right this year. Tyler should be able to navigate the game easily - free of any of 2006's Dave "Michael Beckham" O'Brien slips.

The American announcer needs to tone down his neutral commments about team U.S.
please get someone else if he can't support the team
