A lanyard is used in securing small objects. It can be made from wire, cloth or basic rope.

Most of the times, lanyards are bought in bulk and hence they are relatively cheap. Most employees find lanyards extremely helpful when it comes to securing their identification badges around their neck as they carry on with their work at their work places. Its is an appropriate way of ensuring one does not forget to carry their identification with them as they move about and also ensures that the badge is placed in a position where its visible.

Lanyards can also be beaded and the beaded lanyards can serve the purpose of an inexpensive beaded metallic neck piece. Lanyards can be purchased from typical lanyard suppliers. They come with a wide range of hardware attachments used for securing small objects. In addition to that they are produced in diverse lengths and are available in almost all colors.

Some beaded lanyard pieces are quite exceptional and are considered by some people as jewelry. This particular lanyard pieces are exceptionally costly and they are designed and produced by skilled and experience artisans. As much as they are generally expensive the cost is very much dependant on the type of beads and wire that have been used to make the lanyard. The patterns of beaded lanyard can vary from colorful patterns of glass beads, seed beads, crystals to priceless gemstones.

The beaded lanyards used in securing sunglasses or eyeglasses around the neck are the most fashionable type of lanyards. These beaded lanyards are attached to the temples of the glasses; this allows the glass wearer to hang the glasses around the neck whenever they are not using them. These stunning neck lanyards are commonly known as eyeglass holders or eyeglass necklaces. They present us with a stylish way of keeping track of easily damaged or misplaced items. They make it possible for the wearer to put on and remove glasses easily and frequently throughout the day and night.

Several bead artisans provide jewelry pieces that can be used as additional pieces to adorn the beaded lanyards. The patterns of the beaded lanyards are more often than not replicated in anklets, earrings or bracelet.

The main disadvantage of beaded lanyard is that most of the time they are fragile. They indeed look elegant and boost the wearer's look when worn but they lack the durability possessed by cotton or nylon lanyard.

If you hate the simple and plain colored lanyard hanging around your neck, try beaded lanyard and achieve an elegant and sophisticated look. Or if you are simply looking to change your glass holders beaded lanyards will be a great way to go.
