Enhance Your Own Intuition

Jamie B
We've all had that little voice compelling us to do something different. Often times, we've been spared potential disaster because of it. There are several things you can do to enhance your intuition. Here are just some of them.

The biggest thing is trust. We've all been told while taking our standardized tests in school that when you're in doubt, go with your first answer. If you change that "a" into a "c", you're likely to get the question wrong. We need to apply this to our own lives more often. If you are drawn to one option, just go with it. Don't let the doubts sway you into choosing a wrong action. It takes time, but if you can force yourself to do it, you'll see results and go with your gut more easily.

Meditation is another way to enhance intuition. Doctors and scientists have already proven that meditation helps to relieve stress as well as other health benefits. By meditating regularly, you calm yourself and learn to listen to that inner voice more. Try and work a brief session into your schedule each day and see how it helps.

Once you're calm and relaxed, you're ready to try a couple exercises to hone your intuition. The first one involves your newspaper. Open up to the sports section and look at the teams playing that day. Using your very first impression, pick who you think will be the winner that day. You may end up being surprised at the results. Especially once you've had practice. Another method is asking yourself questions such as "what color will my sister wear today?" or "what's the weather going to be like?" You can build up to more complicated questions with time. You might even try borrowing a book called "Divine Guidance" by Doreen Virtue. At the end, there is a section that gives questions that you must guess the answers to using your intuition. Answers can be found throughout the book.

Listening to your body is just as important as that voice in your head. Usually, if you're questioning something that your subconscious knows the answer to, you'll get clear physical responses. For example, if your answer is no, you may feel a brief sensation of falling or a knot in your stomach. If the answer is yes, you may get a head rush or that "aha!!" feeling. Ask yourself questions you already know the answers to, to see what your own responses may be.

When you learn to open up to that inner voice, you'll find that life can move much more smoothly and you'll maybe avoid some danger along the way.

Very interesting article. There are times we should listen that little voice and times we should not.

I do believe in trusting your intuition. I think it comes from trusting yourself and God.
