Enjoy America Parkway RV Resort

Kathy Anderson
When we left home for our 6 week RV trip, we had planned on staying the first couple nights in roadside rest areas. The first night we did but the second night we found this wonderful clean little park in Orland, California. We were very tired and needed a place to stay where it was nice and quiet. The Parkway RV Resort is part of the Enjoy America park system. When I called for a reservation, I found nothing but wonderful friendly people.

This park is nestled among a groves of trees with nice plants and bushes as part of their surroundings; it truly is a camper's paradise. We parked under a nice shade tree and we found our site to be quiet and off the road enough to not hear the freeway noises. They have tent camping sites as well and there were a few campers there that night. Even though there were others there in their rigs, we felt like we had privacy. The sites are large and level and equipped with all the amenities you need and expect from an Enjoy America Resort. We truly enjoyed our one night stay at this park. It's such a nice quiet rural setting. They have hookups to 50 amp service and even have WiFi access if you want or need it. They certainly are ready and willing to make your stay very enjoyable.

The Parkway RV Resort is open year-round and will take reservations but they are absolutely necessary so it makes it a good place to stay when you need and haven't made a reservation anyplace else. They say you can even just drive up and get accommodations. They can take up to a 70 foot rig.

This park is conveniently located just 1/2 mile away from Interstate traffic noise off the I-5 in Central California. They are a popular destination for those looking to get away, or just passing through for the night. It's located in California's great Central Valley. Children and pets are welcome. They have a pool and a community campfire while you stay. They do offer discounts if you stay 3 nights but do charge for extra for more than 2 people. There are amenities and facilities for guests of all ages. They have a nice laundry facilities as well as a nice playground. Nothing is very far away and in supper condition. Children are very welcome.

If you're looking for things to do, there is an attractive 9 hole golf course just South of Orland right off the freeway, open to the public. For the sportsman, you'll find hunting at its best in and around the surrounding area. In Orland you can also visit the well known Farm Sanctuary, dedicated to protecting farm animals. This 300 acre farm provides information and tours April - November. There's also hiking close by and a swimming pool in the park.

Make sure you check them out on your next vacation through California. We will go back and may even do that on our trip home. There's a gas station close by, too! When we were there, there was a craft show in town that has been going on for many years. It supposedly is very well known, very large and one show not to miss.
