Every day hundreds of people pass through Eglin Air Force Base. At lunch and dinner, many travel over to the BX for fast food or off base to a nice restaurant. Why don't you people give Eglin Officer's Club a try? It's affordable and tasty!

The Officer's Club is located at the end of Boatner Road. The dining facility is large and open. What I love about it is the amazing view. The back wall of the dining room is simply made of tall windows, allowing you to overlook the beautiful emerald waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay while you dine.

The Officer's Club is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Friday. Dinner is served on Saturdays, and you can enjoy breakfast and brunch each Sunday. Lunch runs from 11 to 1pm. Dinner is served from 5pm until 8pm. Finally, from 9:30am to 1pm you can stop by for breakfast/brunch.

I recommend dropping by for lunch. At a price of $8.50, you get to enjoy a buffet that includes the fresh salad bar, soups, a hot and healthy main course, and dessert! Officer Club members get the lunch buffet for $2 off! Usually the main buffet line has warm rolls, several vegetables like corn, beans, rice, and your choice of juicy, tender meats. After you've devoured those, check out the dessert table at the back windows. Upon first glance you will be drawn to that table filled with pies, cakes, brownies, and other sweet goodies!

Dinnertime at the Officer's Club is a more casual, quiet dining experience. Lunchtime can be a bit busy. In addition to their regular menu, some nights have specials. On Thursday nights two Club members can have a prime rib dinner for $26. Seafood specials are held on Fridays, and a seafood buffet is held on the last Friday of the month. Both run about $18. Saturdays are the best nights of all! A Club member can bring a guest and eat for free! You don't have to be a Club member to enjoy dining at the "O-Club" (as it is called by military members). Their regular menu includes salads, steaks, and seafood dishes that are sure to please rumbling bellies.

Stop by the Officer's Club and pickup a calendar. The calendar shows two months of specials that are going on there. Some nights they even have free food! Take an extra minute to go over to the O-Club for a bite to eat today or tomorrow for lunch. You can't beat the selection and price. It sure beats cheeseburgers and pizza!
