Enjoy a Fall Morning with Your Kids

Fall is one of the prettiest times of year. The beautiful, vibrant colors bring life to the outdoors. It may not be easy to do these things on a normal school morning, so pick a Saturday morning when you can spend time with your kids to plan these activities. Here are some ways that moms can enjoy beautiful, crisp fall mornings with their kids.

TAKE A STROLL: Take a brisk morning walk down your road, covered in freshly fallen colorful leaves. You could also walk down a bike path or trail that would be filled with nature's beauty this time of year. You might even see some animals grazing or preparing for winter. You could even take some pictures or let your kids take some pictures of nature and put an album or scrapbook together later.

SIT ON THE PORCH SWING: Take some blankets and pillows outside on a cool, crisp fall morning and swing in the porch swing with your child. Nature and the animals are magnificent to watch this time of year as they are preparing for winter, and preparing their food for the cold months ahead.

EAT BREAKFAST TOGETHER:One way that a mom can enjoy a fall morning with their kids is to make them a big hot breakfast and eat with them. You could make pancakes and sausage or french toast and eggs, make a nice warm, filling meal. Then make them a hot drink, like hot cocoa or hot apple cider to drink, since you will probably be drinking your hot coffee, or you could enjoy another hot drink with them. Take the hot breakfast out on the porch, if it isn't too cold outside, to sit and enjoy together as you watch the squirrels gather nuts and the birds chirp in the bright colored trees. Simply talk, laugh, and enjoy one another's company.

WATCH MORNING CARTOONS: If it is too cold to head outside, you could snuggle up on the couch and watch the Saturday morning cartoons with your kids. You could even make them a hot breakfast for this activity.

The idea is about spending some quality time with your kids and allowing them to realize the beauty and wonder of the autumn season and all it has to offer. Educate them during these times spent together about the animals and how they prepare for winter, like the geese flying south. Use it as a bonding time and an educational time.

thanks for the article. i am an at home mom who homeschools 5 children. sometimes we get so caught up in what we are doing that we don't take the time to do simple things with the children. good article, that makes me think of fall. living in hawaii there are no fall leaves, so i allow my mind to drift to those fall memories i had when living on the mainland in atlanta, ga
