Downtown and in every suburb Atlantans are preparing to celebrate the Fourth of July with music, food, fun, and spectacular fireworks displays. Whether you want to be a part of a big party or prefer to stay closer to home to enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks and fun there is plenty for you to do in Atlanta.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Atlanta: Salute to America, Lenox Square Mall
One of the largest Fourth of July gatherings in Atlanta Lenox Square Mall always offers the most impressive fireworks display in town. The fireworks shows in the Lenox Square/Buckhead area of Atlanta began in the 1960's, and have grown more magnificent every year.

The Lenox Firework display promises millions of fireworks in a 20 minute show. Loudspeakers will blast patriotic music throughout the demonstration and a military fly-over will precede the show. The show starts around 9pm, when dusk turns to darkness.

The Fourth of July begins at 7:30am in Atlanta with the legendary Peachtree Road Race, the world's largest 10K with a capped 55,000 runners. Fans and onlookers will line the streets of Atlanta to celebrate and cheer the runners to the finish line.

The evening Fourth of July festivities begin around 5pm in and around Lenox Square. There will be games and inflatable slides and obstacle courses for the kids to enjoy. Hang out in Atlanta all day to enjoy food, activities, and a patriotic celebration.

To really enjoy the Fourth of July weekend, find a high-rise hotel nearby where you can enjoy the Peachtree Road Race, fireworks display, and participants from a luxurious room in the sky. Spend the weekend enjoying concerts, fine dining, and Fourth of July parties.

Arrive early.
Drink plenty of water.
Position small children a good distance from the display area due to the overwhelming noise.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Atlanta: Centennial Olympic Park
The Fourth of July Celebration at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic park begins at noon with family fun and festivities until 5pm. There will be stilt walkers, face painting, games, and more for the entire family to enjoy. When you get to hot, remember you can cool off in Centennial Olympic Park's Rings Fountain.

A free live concert featuring Stokeswood and 911 Band begin at 5pm. The musical event culminates in a performance by the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra at 8:30pm. The ASYO concert will feature the music of Sousa, Francis Scott Key, Tchaikovsky, and more. There is plenty of free seating on the lawn.

Following the concert there will be a grand fireworks display synchronized to patriotic music.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Atlanta: Lawrenceville, Gwinnett
Downtown Lawrenceville is the location for a Fourth of July extravaganza and fireworks display in Gwinnett County, north of Atlanta on I85.

Prelude to the Fourth, an annual July 3rd event will be held on the lawn in front of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. A full orchestra will perform "Crazy for You," beginning at 7:30pm. Seating begins at 5:30pm. Seating on the lawn is free. Tables can be reserved, including dinner, for $150.

A fireworks display follows the July 3rd concert.

The extravagant Fourth of July celebration continues on July 4th with festivities beginning at 5pm. Fourth of July fun will include live music, a magic show, and a puppet show. A variety of vendors and performers will be there to keep you busy all evening. Kids may climb a rock wall, visit the petting zoo, and ride miniature carnival rides. (Age restrictions apply.)

Fireworks will begin at dark and will be fired from behind the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center. The fireworks can be seen from anywhere in downtown Lawrenceville.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Atlanta: Marietta Square
Marietta, Georgia's annual "Fourth in the Park" celebration begins at 10:00am in the square located in downtown Marietta. "Fourth in the Park" will be a all day festival of fun, food, carnival games, crafts, music, and more.

Fourth of July Fireworks near Atlanta: The Mall of Georgia
The Mall of Georgia is located in Buford, Georgia north of Gwinnett on I85. The Mall of Georgia promises all day fun on the Fourth of July beginning at 11am. The day's activities will culminate in a fireworks display at 9:30pm.

Fourth of July Fireworks can also be enjoyed as part of the patriotic laser show at Georgia's Stone Mountain Park. The laser show begins at dusk.

If you decide to take in a Brave's game on the Fourth of July you will enjoy a grand fireworks display following the game.

    We went to the Vplex in Villa Rica...Lots of family friendly fun, most didnt cost anything. My daughter and I even took a hot air balloon launcg about 100 ft off the ground or so...FREE!! Fireworks lasted about 30-40 mins and were AWESOME!! We have gone every year since they started (3 yrs) and it gets better and better.
