One thing to remember, plan ahead. The word reservation is an everyday word in New York City. Practically anywhere you go, especially in the evening, requires a reservation. You do have more of a choice for a relaxing evening in New York City than practically anywhere else.
One of the biggest attractions in New York City is the water, and it is put to good use, day and night, four seasons of the year. And it is the one place in New York City where you can slow down the pace, at least a little bit. Imagine yourself on a luxury yacht, feasting on a gourmet dinner while the city and the cares of the day float way. Maybe get in a little dancing, some of the yachts have bands or DJ's. Dress codes vary from black tie to jacket, no tie, but whatever your style, you will find a cruise that matches it. And isn't this a nice way to entertain out of town visitors? It will sill be early when you yacht docks, about 9 ro 10 PM depending on the particular cruise. Yes, that is early for New York City, even on a work day and since your yacht will dock downtown, and it is only a short walk to Greenwich Village, So Ho and TriBeca, where the evening is just getting started, why not take walk, or taxi ride, north and stop in at one of the jazz clubs, or coffee houses, or perhaps an Irish Pub What ever you are in the mood for, it will be waiting for you in New York City.
Now, this many well be the end of an evening in New York City for some people, especially if the next day is a work day, but for those who still have the time and energy, move up a little further north to mid town. The night clubs will just be getting started.
By the time the night clubs close, the sun you saw going down, will be coming up over the East River, and in the old days you would get to great the milk man as he began his rounds of the day. It is once again time for the night life to give away to the business day, and for you to head to your hotel, or home, relish the memories of the night and get ready to make more memories, or join the work force once again
