The temperature is getting warmer, the flowers are in bloom and the spring rains have finally subsided (well, in some places). This can only mean one thing. It's time to dust of those golf clubs you've got stored in the garage or basement and hit the links. New Englanders especially know what it's like to wait all winter for a crack at the first hole of the year, so it's no surprise that the Seacoast area of New Hampshire has some of the best and most affordable golfing around. Check out these courses for a round that's cheap, easy on the eyes and sure to be worth the long winter wait!

The first place you should check out is Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club located on North Road in North Hampton, NH. They offer a challenging yet playable course for all golfing types. Duffers and pros alike will love the view from a number of the elevated tees and will relish the challenge of having to fit their shot through the clusters of oak and pine trees. The course is not long (it clocks in around 5600 yards from the blue tees), but will test most golfers. They have a number of different rates, including $35 for an off-season 18 holes during weekdays. The peak season starts right around Memorial Day so hit up this deal while you can! Once the summer rolls around the rates go up a little but are sill manageable at $39 and $46 for 18 holes on weekdays and weekends respectively. A cart will run you $16 so even during the peak times you are going to get a great round for around 60 bucks. Be sure to also check out their great driving range and practice facility down the road. You wont' be disappointed. Sagamore offers the convenience of online tee time booking so head over to their website to check out more info or book a tee time today!

The other course you should head over to is Pease Golf Course on the Pease Air Force Base in beautiful Portsmouth, NH. The course offers a great setup with sweeping doglegs and water in play on many holes. The challenge for most will be to avoid the hazards and shape your shots. A driver won't be your club of choice on every hole as most other course will allow. The better players will have to strategize with their club selection off the tee to place themselves in the proper position to score. The course includes 4 par 5's and 5 par 3's, so your chances for making a birdie or two are plentiful. It's longer than it seems at 5900 yards from the white tees, so be sure to keep you long irons and woods handy! Pease also offers a 9 hole Blue Course for those that want to get in a quick 9 without committing to a full 18 holes. They currently have their spring rates available (through April 30th) so get over there as soon as you can. You can get 18 holes and a cart for around $50 on the weekend but these prices won't last! Pease also has a nice driving range where you can warm up or work on those tricky shots you know will befuddle you out on the course.

With summer just around the corner, what a better way to spend a beautiful day than out on the links with a few buddies. Head over to either of these courses and you'll be able to enjoy some of the best golf that the Seacoast of New Hampshire has to offer.
