Much of Michigan can be divided up into one of two sets of colors: Green and white or maize and blue. This Saturday, October 9th at Rosie O' Grady's at 279 West Nine Mile Road in Ferndale, Michigan, the colors were on full display. In case for some reason you are unaware, the colors mentioned refer to Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.

Saturday's game drew big crowds at this popular downtown pub, which features more TVs than just about anywhere I've ever been. There are TVs above the bar, next to the tables, and outside on the wall for those that choose to eat in the patio area. The customers this afternoon were in high spirits and a good-natured but very intense mood.

From my spot at the end of the bar, it looked as though the University of Michigan supporters outnumbered the Spartan fans, but the Spartan fans were just as loud. It was packed, as you would expect for an event like this, and there is always something special about watching a big game at a cool sports bar.

Michigan State won fairly easily, so that left some of the fans disappointed, but based on the smiles I saw from nearly everybody in the pub, I said just being at the pub was a win.
