Enough Already with Peter Walsh on the OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network)

New Program with Help for the Clutter in Our Lives

Diane Zoller-Ciatto
The first episode of Enough Already concerns a family of four. The husband was diagnosed with leukemia thirteen years ago, but had gotten considerably worse as of late.
Upon walking into the house, the living room resembles a warehouse with racks of clothing and boxes stacked in the middle of the room. The word "later" seems to be the reason why this room and the guest room are cluttered messes. He also stated that "later" is the best friend of "clutter."
Peter defines clutter as anything that stands between you and the life you want to be living. Not only the physical stuff; but it also can be the emotional and mental clutter that gets in the way of your life.

After emptying the entire living room, they found out what a lovely room they had. They needed this help because it was too overwhelming for them. What Peter did was get to the bottom of why this had happened. It seems that when the husband was diagnosed with leukemia, the house started become an eyesore. The wife did not want to lose any of her memories.
While trying to separate the things for a garage sale, both husband and wife were trying to keep many things that brought them good memories. On the other hand, the both college age daughters would part with it in a minute. Their mother wanted to keep some of their childhood items but each daughter wanted it gone.

Peter needed to get to the bottom of the entire situation. The husband was having a hard time dealing with his illness and all the clutter too. He felt there was no comfort in his beautiful home except in his bedroom. The two daughters were very young when their father got sick and the reason they wanted everything gone was because it brought back the memories of their father being sick pretty much their whole lives. They even had to turn off the cameras because the girls had a very tough time relating their feelings, but once they were not taping, tears flowed and the weight of the world was lifted.

The final prize was to have the garage sale which amounted to a $300 donation to the leukemia society and having their home back. It made such a difference in the husband's condition and they were able to have company to their beautiful home which seemed added to the husband's and the rest of the family's morale.

This program is shown on Monday evenings at 8:00 p.m.

I haven't watched anything on the Oprah Network, because I haven't been able to find it. I'm with my son in Virginia and his television has about a thousand channels. Hopefully I'll find it when I return to Illinois.
