According to the Economic Policy Institute, between the years March 2001 and October 2003 we, in the United States lost 2.4 million jobs thanks to NAFTA. That is 2.4 million jobs that went to Mexico. According to the "Why They Migrate" article, since the signing of NAFTA, 19 million Mexicans have fallen into poverty and as a result, 10 million came here in search of jobs.
The politicians seem happy, the investors seem happy and most of the blue collar workers I know, are not very happy. According to the EPI most American workers that have lost their job due to NAFTA, ended up in lower paying jobs. We have all heard about "retraining programs" for displaced workers. If you have a family it is kind of hard to clothe, feed and put a roof over the heads of your family on an unemployment check, while attending school for a couple years.
Every election cycle I hear the same old thing. The Republicans are for the rich people and the Democrats are for the little guy. LOL Both parties have sold out the average American. The Democrats want to make us a communist country. Never mind that communism or socialism has been a miserable failure in every country it has been tried in. The Neocon Republicans talk about low taxes, small government and personal liberties, but give them a little power and they will let the highest bidder rape our country.
It is time we take back our country. Our founding fathers would have had the likes of Bill Clinton and George Bush shot for the traitors they are. They have let our borders be invaded and signed trade agreements that only benefit the rich of this country. Meanwhile Mexican and American families suffer for their greed. Today the Neocons plot with the Liberals to form a North American Union. They want to make the United States, Mexico and Canada one country. One country for the purpose of wringing every last penny out of the pockets of the working class of each country and filing their bank accounts with the loot they rape from out countries.
We need to get Ron Paul elected. He may be running as a Republican, but he is a man of principle and a Libertarian at heart. We need to identify Libertarians in every state to run for the U.S. Congress and Senate. There is good momentum on the Internet for Ron Paul, we just need to transfer that momentum to the average Americans living room and into the voting booth. Americans must be sold on the fact that those that believe in Libertarian ideals believe in the U.S. Constitution, small government, low taxes and civil liberties. The American public is bombarded daily with the message of the "one world" group, we need to fight back and get our message heard.

I don't like NAFTA, but my dislike for Ron Paul's 1920ish era rhetoric runs even deeper.
NAFTA would have worked fine if not for the stupidity of opening the door on China and Asia. The USA was gaining the Canadian resources it needed, Mexico was going to gain the financial resources it needed to build a public infrastructure and jobs and Canada was going to get an easy access US market.
Moving the labour to China and production to China was the mistake. It was supposed to go to Mexico.
