Students gathered here today, I am here to teach you one last lesson before you leave this magnificent school. There is one thing that perhaps you have not learned, not been specifically taught within these halls. That thing is the world. Aye, you've taken social studies and read books, but it is an entirely different thing once you emerge into the outside world. Your parents and teachers, family and friends, have done their best to prepare you for what comes next; but when it comes down to it, it will be you out there, not them.
That is why I'll tell you briefly that the world is a harsh place. Beware the horrible things that goes on the world, be it wars, pestilence, natural disaster. But do not take me as a cynic, for while you must be cautious, you must still leave your current shell and experience all the world has to offer. Because that is what I am truly here to say, for no matter what you've heard, the outside world is marvelously cruel and kind, unpredictable as the oceans of old.
There are murderers, rapists, sociopaths and everything else, but beyond that one must find those golden souls. Some shining bright, some still hidden in the rough, but find them and each of your lives will prove the better for it. No matter whether a person is a doctor, fry-cook, or even a soldier, we all possess something of what it is to be human. What I really mean is thus: Let that spark within you grow. Never let it be tarnished by what you see out there beyond these walls, but open your eyes fully. See what the world really has to offer and do your best to make the Earth and all upon it, including thyself, just a little bit better.
