Directions for Entertaining Recipes: Easy Seafood Dip

1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Set the cream cheese out until it feels soft to the touch, or place in a microwave for 30-60 seconds, until it softens.
2
Mix the cream cheese, onion, horseradish, soy sauce, and cayenne pepper in a large bowl. Break the flaked imitation crabmeat into smaller pieces, or dice the meat by hand. You can also toss the imitation crabmeat into a food processor and pulse for several seconds. Add the meat to the cream cheese and toss until combined.
3
Pour the mixture into a glass or metal pie pan. Lightly press down on the top and smooth the dip evenly across the top. Sprinkle the top of the dip with paprika and the walnuts.
4
Set the dip in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The mixture should bubble slightly and turn a pale brown shade. Serve the mixture hot or warm with crackers, toasted bread, and freshly cut vegetables.
Tip
Replace the imitation crabmeat with freshly cooked crabmeat for a richer seafood flavor. Sprinkle chopped scallions or fresh dill over the top, adding a little color to the dip.
