Entertainment Book Review: Fantastic Coupons, Deals and Discounts

The "Entertainment Book" from Entertainment Publications, LLC, offers coupons, deals and discounts-both in the physical book itself, plus through online promotional codes and printable bonus coupons. The 2011 edition has been available for a few months now, as the company always releases the new year's set of cities-each book is specific to a main city or region, such as Denver, Colorado-well before the end of the previous year. This allows customers to have 15 months of use, with early access to their local coupons and online deals.

The combination of printed, physical coupons in the book plus online promo codes makes "Entertainment Book" a great swap-and-shop tool. You can trade coupons with other "Entertainment Book" members-or any frugal shopper, who may have a discount at a store you love but which they never patron. I enjoyed being able to pass-along discounts to my friends and family; my household doesn't include children, and my friends with kids appreciated all the kid-oriented coupons, such as photo sets discounts and toy store coupons. The Denver 2010 edition had a considerable amount of restaurant or fast food coupons, which were easily passed-around among friends. Fortunately, the "Entertainment Book" includes deals on shopping, travel, food and recreational activities, such as buy-one-get-one-free tickets to museums and sporting events instead of only B1G1 cheeseburger sales.

It retails for $40 on the official website, with free shipping; the price steadily decreases as the months of use decline-access to the online deals ends November 1st of that edition's year, and most of the in-book coupons expire December 31st or before. In October of 2010, you could get your copy for $35 plus a bonus $25 restaurant certificate, and the usual free shipping. I purchased the 2010 Denver edition for $15 this summer, and to date I have saved over $600; our Budget truck rental (I reviewed the company here, and do not recommend them) savings totaled over $300 alone. If you are planning a vacation, local or long distance move, or other large purchase the "Entertainment Book" is a steal at $35 (or less).

My first experience with "Entertainment Book" was over ten years ago, when my mother purchased the Fort Wayne, Indiana, edition. Although we lived in Huntington, which is roughly 30mi away from "The Fort," we were able to save much more than the $40 cost of the "Entertainment book." This was years before Internet deals and promotional codes became so desirable, and the tremendous amount of discounts for local and regional companies available on the "Entertainment Book" website these days makes it an even more frugal purchase. Once you activate your copy, you can sign-up for membership on the website and cruise deals at your heart's content; the company also offers deals via Facebook and Twitter on the "Entertainment Book" accounts. According to the company website, they have been offering these books for over 50 years!

I highly recommend the "Entertainment Book" to any smart shoppers, activity lovers and travel enthusiasts, as one of the best investments you can make today which can last you an entire year-or longer!
