Entertainment Business Success for Resident Evil

Entertainment Business Success Has Fast Tracked Production of the Next Resident Evil Movie in the Series

With the entertainment business success of the movie series Resident Evil, producers Screen Gem and Sony Pictures have announced a September 2012 release date for Resident Evil 5. This is by far the smallest break between Resident Evil productions, due to the performance of the most recent sequel on the entertainment stock market. Adding to the good news for the movie franchise's growing fan base is confirmation that Sony Pictures will make the movie in 3D.

With a made-for-3D release, Sony Pictures is betting that they will surpass previous income records for Resident Evil: Afterlife, which collected $USD27.7 million in box office ticket sales in its first three days. By the end of its cinema run, it had amassed $USD236 million from international box office office takings and well over $USD60 million in US sales.

Capcom and Sony Pictures are estimating a tremendous increase in entertainment stock market revenues for Resident Evil 5. They are hoping for nearly $USD367 million in entertainment business revenues, more than all four previous Resident Evil's, combined.
