Jesse is out of 'Order'

The Hollywood Reporter announced in February that NBC's hit show Law & Order will lose one of its core players. Jesse L. Martin, who's played Detective Ed Green since 1998 starting with the late Jerry Orbach's Detective Briscoe, is leaving the original franchise cop show. His character will be written off and replaced by Anthony Anderson of Barbershop and Hustle & Flow fame. Martin signed on to do the first 13 episodes of the current season with an option to do more; leaving the door open for him to return should he want to.

An original cast member of the hit Broadway musical Rent (he reprised the role for the Chris Columbus film of the same name) has wrapped production of Peter and Vandy and will portray legendary singer Marvin Gaye in the biopic film Sexual Healing, set to begin production around late April or early May. We'll miss our Detective Green but we'll always have reruns.

Freedom for Foxy

Rapper Foxy Brown has been released from a prison in New York City after spending 8 months of a 1 year sentence from charges on assault. You may remember Miss Ill NaNa got into a physical altercation with two stylists over a $20 manicure.

In October 2007, Foxy was in solitary for 76 days after having a fight with another inmate and refusing to take a drug test according to reports.

Now that she's out, what is Foxy's next move? Maybe she should look into professional boxing...something to think about.

Singer leaves the Atlantic for an Epic adventure

Grammy award winning singer Brandy has been signed to Epic Records; she's currently working on her new album which is schedule for release later in the year. Her last album for the Atlantic label, Afrodisiac (2004), sold only 416,000 copies to date. Hopefully this will be a greater venture for her that will help in getting over her legal woes.

Speaking of legal woes, Billboard magazine reported that the R&B singer, born Brandy Norwood, is being sued by a landscaping company who says she owes$3,576 for work done on her property between July 2007 and February 2008. Her publicist claimed the bills were sent to the wrong address. So for 5 months Brandy has had someone on her staff not keeping track f things? Someone's not on their job. What kind of people are working for the Norwoods?

Jones has a new 'View' on life

After three years of over exposed wedded bliss, TV personality and lawyer Star Jones has filed for divorce with banker Al Reynolds. Entertainment Tonight reported that the records were sealed. Surely the reason will be the old fashioned irreconcilable differences.

This may or may not be a surprise to many and for the same reason - her over the top product placement wedding. Star made it look like the hottest topic to talk about was her wedding to Reynolds while co-hosting The View; a reason why her contract wasn't renewed on the show.

The next time she finds her 'soul mate' she should tone it down or keep the details to herself. She said it best, "Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce." Let's hope she doesn't make the same mistake again.

The Anthonys are coming to your living room

That's right folks, Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are following in the footsteps of the Osbournes and the Barkers by inviting their fans into their home and everyday professional life; not to mention their new role of being new parents.

Cable channel TLC will broadcast the reality show; no word on a title or a debut date for the show. In any event Lopez, who is also co-executive producer, is very excited about the project as told to reporters as well as saying "I'm looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together."

According to TLC's press release, the show "deliver a slice of [Jennifer's] life that audiences have never seen before, as she takes on her career and launches a new fragrance while trying to juggle her new responsibilities as a first time mom."

I've been writing about the entertainment world for some time now. I enjoy the aspects of it, the ins and outs, and some of the drama is like a great reality show. My wish is to write for a few magazines and...  View profile
