Her showbiz life for over two decades, added many gems to her crown. For her constant contribution to television, she was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1990 and later she was honored with Silver Satellite Award for outstanding accomplishments in electronic communications. All confirming her celebrity status. Another honor was added to her glory when she was conferred with Gracie Allen Award twice in 1998 and 2002, respectively and the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame Award in 2006.
Mary Hart was born in Madison, South Dakota. In Sioux Falls, she attended Augustana College and after taking the bachelor's degree here, she tried her luck as a high school English teacher. Interestingly, Hart was also a finalist at the Miss America Pageant held in 1970. Hart's broadcasting career started in Lowa with a public-service radio and TV program and later on she moved to Oklahoma and hosted a daytime program Dannysday. She had also performed a voice over for a cartoon character named Fairy Hart in an episode of The Fairly Odd Parents.
Apart from her broadcasting career she profoundly involved with many charitable and Non Governmental Organizations including Children's Hospital Los Angeles where she became a member of the Board of Trustees; The National Childhood Cancer Foundation and American Heart Association.
