Letting the interviewers see this enthusiasm will illustrate that you are a passionate person. Bringing a high level of passion to the job can help you perform to the highest level. Ensuring that the interviewer(s) take notice of your enthusiasm in a positive way, can help you standout and land the job.
The interviewer(s) are likely to interview multiple job applicants. Some of these job applicants may not have the same amount of experience and/or education that you possess. Other applicants may possess very similar education and/or experiences. Progressing through the interview process may require standing out from the crowd. Providing witty answers may not be enough. Combining thoughtful, appropriate answers with an enthusiastic smile (when appropriate) can leave a lasting impression in the interviewer(s) mind(s). The interviewer(s) will probably hear or have already heard many different answers. Enthusiasm, kept at a professional level, will help you deliver your message using more than just words.
A job candidate that illustrates enthusiasm, is more likely to progress through the interview process. Which job candidate would you want to hire? A job candidate that answers questions in a monotone and exudes little emotion or one who is passionate about the work and your company? You should not be afraid to show a little emotion. While answering questions smile. Where appropriate interact such terms as "that's great" or "wonderful", especially when being told about the position and/or company. This can help set you apart as the best person to represent the company.
Be careful not to go overboard, during the interview process. Showing fake or forced enthusiasm can be as damaging, if not more, than showing no enthusiasm at all. When you show enthusiasm, it is important that you be sincere. Insincerity may get you remembered but not in a positive way. At the same time, if you speak in a very bubbly, upbeat manner then you may want to tone it down. While this is your natural speech pattern, the interviewer(s) will not know this. This could be construed as forced or insincere enthusiasm.
Landing a job interview can generate strong enthusiasm. You can use this enthusiasm to your advantage during the job interview. The interviewer(s) will conduct multiple interviews. Harnessing your enthusiasm can help you to make a positive, lasting impression. You also need to be careful to show sincere enthusiasm. Forced enthusiasm or insincerity may leave a negative impression. Incorporating these steps into your job interview will help you leave a lasting impression and land that job.
