Envision Your Perfect Wedding with Perfect Vision

LASIK for Brides

Carol Corbett
Imagine walking down the aisle of a candlelit church, beautiful flowers adorning each pew, and at the end of the aisle, your handsome beau awaits your arrival. Your eyes mist up, but your contacts don't shift. When your father wipes a tear from your cheek as he hands you off, there are no glasses to hinder him. A spectacular wedding commences in 20/20 vision, you see Aunt Bea snapping photos from the corner of your eye, you'll never forget how amazing everything looked as you play this scene over and over in your head for years to come. And as you prepare for your honeymoon, you can forget the hassle of lens cleaners and drops...go ahead and dive into the cool waters headfirst and open your eyes underneath to view the spectacular fish. Curl up in the hotel room watching a movie after the long day and just fall asleep without worrying about crushing expensive glasses or waking up to contacts cemented to your eyeballs.

Does all this seem just too good to be true? If you've lived a life burdened with poor vision, chances are you can hardly imagine life without the cumbersome (and expensive) accoutrements. But there is another way. Scientific and medical advances in laser vision correction are such that laser vision correction (LASIK) is now a mere outpatient procedure. In just one day you can finally experience clear vision! Think of it as the ultimate anti-accessory for the bride, or perhaps an early wedding present for yourself (and even your groom).

LASIK is effective for correcting most cases of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. If you are afflicted with one of these vision deficiencies, you can be tested to see if LASIK is right for you. The testing is simple, and Clear Advantage in Portsmouth, NH will even give you a FREE test if you bring in a copy of this article. Once you've been tested and educated on the procedure, you'll have some decisions to make about how you'd like the surgery performed, but whatever you chose, you're looking at missing one day of work (best to pick a Friday) and having clear vision for the rest of your life!

I have personally had this procedure done and couldn't recommend it more for soon-to-be brides. As we planned our Caribbean honeymoon, I desperately wanted to book a scuba diving trip. I'd wanted to do it all my life, but feared my vision limitations would ruin the experience. I crunched some numbers and really weighed my options. Hundreds of dollars in optometry visits each year, the cost of contact lenses, solutions, and drops would all vanish. I'd wake up and SEE the world, something I hadn't done clearly since the third grade! The more I learned about LASIK, the more I wanted to do it. So, in June of 2008, three months before my wedding, I took the plunge. I'll admit, there was a tinge of pain, and the eye drops only increased for a while, but on my wedding day I looked at my new husband with 20/10 vision! On our honeymoon, I saw exotic fish and coral in amazing clarity on our scuba excursion. And every morning I wake up with the ability to see out the windows onto our backyard.

Unless you've gone without, it's hard to imagine the impact that clear vision can have on your life. But there is hope, and wedding time is the perfect time to reconnect with your sight. The surgery does need to be scheduled plenty in advance in order for you and your eyes to recover and adjust, and you can't swim for three months which is important when planning your honeymoon. So if all this sounds inviting, call Clear Advantage in Portsmouth today to schedule your FREE test with a copy of this article. AND, should you decide to go ahead with the procedure, this article will also get you 10% off! Some insurance plans cover this expense, many businesses offer a corporate discount program, and there's also a payment plan available. So what are you waiting for? Get ready to see clearly when your veil is raised and look at the rest of your life from a whole new perspective.

Great use of combining wedding thoughts with the problem of vision. I totally agree...having worn glasses since 2nd grade, but even LASIK is not for me...I have looked into it, but great idea for wedding couples. :-)
