Episode Recap: Is 'The Bachelorette's' Bentley Williams for Real?

Fans of ABC's "The Bachelorette" got an earful Monday night as contestant Bentley Williams dared to diss season 7 star Ashley Hebert behind closed doors. But is this season's villain the real deal, or is acting part of this player's game?

The 28-year-old bad boy's occupation is listed as an investment banker on his ABC bio, but Williams should get an Emmy for his performance this season.

Hebert was told up front that Williams signed on to the show for the wrong reasons -- as in, he wasn't going on the show to meet her but instead just to promote his career. Williams' ex-wife apparently filled in a pal of Hebert's before the new bachelorette even met her 25 would-be suitors (small world, huh?)

But the kind-hearted Hebert wanted to give Williams a chance. Turns out he was cute and charming, so he made it past the first rose ceremony and quickly wormed his way into her heart.

But on Monday night's second episode, Williams' true colors started to show. Just not in front of Ashley.

His behind the scenes interviews with producers showed him saying that he isn't attracted to Hebert in the least, but that he is competitive.

Last week he said that he had been hoping that the season 7 "Bachelorette" would be Brad Womack's final pick, Emily Maynard, instead of Hebert (Note: Maynard is now single, so have at it, Bentley!)

But in between his on-camera Ashley disses (he said a kiss that he shared with her "sucked"), Williams was Prince Charming to her face, sweeping her off her feet and in front of the fireplace for that fateful kiss. And Hebert practically begged him (no, she did beg him) to stay on the show if he feels anything for her. "Please. Please. Please. Please," she said.

Next week's promo for the show teases that Williams finally breaks Hebert's heart. She's shown sobbing in bed after a chat with him and crying, "I never knew that I would come in here and so soon be heartbroken!"

As for Williams, who presumably leaves the show on his own accord in lieu of suffering through another kiss, will he ever be able to get a date after this?

Seriously??!! You should all be ashamd of yourselves. The damage you will do to that poor girl when she sees this later is sickening. I have followed the Bacherlor and Bacherlorette from the beginning but I will not watch anymore after this contrived and manipulating season. If you do not completely destroy Ashley's self-esteem, I hope she sues your butts!
