Epitome of What a Kiss Should Be

Stephanie Alford
As I enter your front door
With you directly behind me
A wave of excitement overcomes me
Yet I remain calm
Controlling the anxiety
And I feel you do the same
We cross over to the couch
Onto which we become comfortable
Both of us staring blankly ahead
Too shy to look at the other
Or attempting to act coy
You inch over to me slowly
The excitement grows
I feel the chills going down my spine
And goosebumps covering my arms
Once completely adjacent to me
Your hand reaches up to my face
Turning it towards yours
Our eyes locked together
Until we are forced to blink simultaneously
A faint smile creeps across my face
And I look down, my face turning crimson
Turning my face towards yours again
You slowly lean in
With my eyes closed, it seems like forever
Until our lips finally meet
The chemistry between us
Explodes through the air
My hand reaches around your neck
To draw you into me completely
Two tongues darting in such ardor
Experiencing every dance imaginable
And the torture of waiting
Was well worth it
