3LCD is a technology used on most microdisplay projectors today. Projectors with 3LCD technology uses three LCDS to reproduce bright, natural images as well as full time RGB for quality images without color break-up. On the other hand, the D7 chip set with C2Fine uses inorganic substrate that use 12-bit video processing and a polarizing light filter. D7 with C2Fine allows the projector to show blacks and elevated contrast ratios.
According to Epson, the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 UB can also achieve brightness levels of up to 1,600 ANSI lumens to allow users to enjoy their movies even in rooms where ambient light can not be eliminated. Other features of Epson's PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 UB as stated in the company's press release are: two HDMI 1.3 inputs, Lens shift that can adapt the projector to different angles, Epson's proprietary OptiCinema lens system that has 14 lenses which, according to Epson, can maintain picture integrity on the entire image with a zoom rate of 1:2.1, six axis color adjust and brightness control, only emits 24 decibels of sound, and a 3 year limited warranty. The Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 UB is also ISF certified and has a pearlescent black finish and will include a spare lamp and ceiling mount on the package.
According to Mike Isgrig, director of multimedia projection products of Epson America, the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema does not only give the best 1080p image quality in the market but Epson's engineers have also incorporated a lot of other unique features unto the PowerLite Pro Cinema to enhance the installation, setup and calibration of the device. Isgrig adds that Epson is certain that most of the professional home theater installers will appreciate the enhancements done by their engineers and their home theater customers can expect incredible performance from the PowerLite Pro Cinema.
The PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 UB will start selling in December through authorized CEDIA dealers. Pricing for the PowerLite Pro Cinema Projector has not yet been announced as of writing.
