Equate Antibacterial Hand Soap Stands Up to Name Brands with Ease

I continue to use antibacterial hand soap. Part of that is due to the small children I'm exposed to regularly. With my compromised immune system, even the tiniest bacteria can cause me serious harm.

While my favorite antibacterial hand soap is Dial Complete, I am also a fan of the Equate brand. I like it because it is also tough on bacteria but easy on the hands. It provides needed moisturizers required to keep my hands looking soft and young.

Equate Antibacterial Hand Soap comes in a 7.5 fl oz clear bottle with a sticker that is semi-transparent. The soap itself comes clear or in the peachy color often associated with antibacterial products. It blends well with most bathroom or kitchen decor.

The bottle has a pump top that is simple to use and doesn't lock up. Is if semi-transparent.

On the front of the bottle features the Equate logo and a picture of a flowing water sprinkled with aloe vera. Lettering is done in light blue, navy and red. The back label provides product information and drug facts. It also spells out the ingredients contained inside.

Ingredients include aloe barbadensis gel, fragrance, glyercin, and hydrolyzed silk protein. They also include , benzyl alcohol, citric acid, cocamide EMA, cocamidopropyl betaine, FD&C red no. 40, FD&C yellow no. 5, polyquaternium-7, red no. 33, sodium chloride, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate tetrasodium EDTA and triclosan.

Equate Antibacterial Hand Soap is for external use only. Its primary purpose is to help remove skin bacteria from the hands.

It is important to avoid getting the soap in the eyes. If this happens inadvertently, rinse the eyes with cool water until they no longer sting. If that doesn't work, contact a physician as quickly as possible.

Cease using the soap if it causes skin irritation or break out. That could indicate an allergy to some or all of the ingredients contained therein. Contact a physician for an alternative product suggestion.

Keep Equate Antibacterial Hand Soap out of the reach of small children who might be tempted to eat or drink the product. If this should occur, report to an ER facility as quickly as possible or contact the local poison control center.

To use Equate Antibacterial Hand Soap, wet the hands first. Then dispense about a nickel-sized portion of the soap into the palm of the hands. Rub hands together to dispense the product throughout. Keep cleaning for at least one minute. Then rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

Equate is the brand of Wal-Mart and is available only at Wal-Mart stores nationwide. It retails for under $2. Larger refill bottles are also available. They contain 64 oz of the soap for under $4.

When it comes to good antibacterial soap at a reasonable cost, Equate Antibacterial Hand Soap fits the bill. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
