After becoming tired of trying to scrub off eyeliner, I decided the next time I went shopping I would look for an inexpensive eye make up remover. The least expensive item at Wal*Mart that day was the Equate store brand. It comes in a clear 4 fl oz-118 ml bottle with a white unscrew cap. The product comes in a blue liquid and claims to be oil free. It also claims to instantly remove eye make up without a greasy feel after wards.
The product has a medium perfume scent and can easily be applied to a cotton ball. I've tried this more than a few times with different types of eye make up. Sometimes it was used to remove heavy, thick eyeliner, other times mascara and eye shadow. The result is it does help with removing the mascara and eyeshadow easily. The eye liner depending on how thick it's applied does take more work to come off.
One aspect that has turned me off to this product is what happen when a tiny bit got into my eye. It stung like crazy! I highly suggest when using this product to always be near a sink or shower. Almost every time I've used this product no matter how tight I had the eyes closed, the liquid would get into the eye causing stinging pain. If this happens, rinse the eye out for at least a few minutes. In a way having to rinse out your eye due to stinging ends up resulting in make up still waiting to be removed all over the face. Instead of cleaning only the eyes, the result is washing the whole face to remove traces of mascara and eyeliner that trickled down.
This is the first eye make up remover I have used as I am not sure if eye make up remover products have the same stinging result. This product costs at the time under $3.50. I would rate this product as okay, granted the item does not get into the eye. Look for it in the wrinkle/acne aisle.
