Equilibrium

C. Love
Equal opportunities said to exist for all
Chasm between the sexes alleged to fall
Same job, same pay for the protected classes
Legislation passed to appeal to the masses
Affirmative action plans set in place
Opportunities presented for every race
Why aren't more women in leadership?
Same background, performance, well equipped
Females with MBAs and advanced degrees
Operating organizations over seas
Mirroring portfolios, parallel profiles
Nearly identical management styles
Salaries of men disproportionately higher
Women struggling to be freed from the mire
Ominous boundaries hindering expectations
Limitations regardless of qualifications
Good ole' boys club inhibiting progression
Blatant at times, devoid of discretion
New regulations atop aged attitudes
Antiquated mindsets limiting latitude
Disparity silenced, internally frightened
Opposing may make favoritism heighten
Translate laws into the heart of humanity
To fuel revolution and turn from insanity
Reject remaining mute, turning a blind eye
Push boundaries of change, refuse to comply

Aah this one goes both ways though. Perhaps I'm just too young but I've yet to see this gender inequality. If nothing else, I think my ovaries have worked in my favor.

GREAT piece!!! Whom are we kidding? EVERY man knows it's WOMEN who are REALLY in charge. I'm man enough to admit that. If women ran the world, it would probably have a lot more compassion, understanding and love in it. Well, that is, unless there's a shoe or clothing sale going on somewhere. In that case, you'd better get the hell out of their way! I've seen them tear each other to shreds over a silk blouse that was marked down!!!! I'm outta here! "The G-Man"

Great job. Sexism is a still a problem in the world we live in. Equality is still a struggle.

See, C-, I think the ol' bait and switch comes into play here. Affirmative action and other such legislation applies to lowly ol' workers like us, and purposefully left the glass ceiling in place. I mean, c'mon, it's one thing to hire a woman and pay her the same as a man, but do you REALLY think they want one in their clubhouse (that is, unless she's serving drinks)? Great work as usual!
