Erica Spindler is my all-time favorite thriller novelist. With every book, Spindler, a New York Times and international best seller, gets better. Her superbly crafted story lines, usually set in New Orleans, build drama and suspense, with a hint of added romance.
Erica was born in Rockford, Illinois. She originally planned on being an artist, and earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Delta State University, and Master's from the University of New Orleans in Visual Arts. Her plans changed, after reading a romance novel in June 1982, she was hooked and wrote her first romantic suspense. Later, Ms. Spindler found her true calling as a thriller author with Forbidden Fruit in 1996. She lives in New Orleans with her husband and two sons.
Erica has won many writing awards. She received the prestigious Daphne Du Maurier award for Bone Cold. As a Romance Writers of America (RWA) honor roll member, she won a Kiss of Death award for Forbidden Fruit. She's also a three-time RITA award finalist. Publishers Weekly awarded her a Listen Up Award for the Audio Version of Shocking Pink, as the best audio mystery book in 1998.
Erica Spindler's been my role model and idol in my aspiration to become a thriller author. I have wanted to write like her ever since I read her thrillers. When they end, you're conflicted--happy you have the solution, but unhappy when they ended. She's also a supportive friend on Facebook, Twitter and Shelfari. Whether it's writing/editing, or personal, Erica always posts a nice comment on my Facebook profile page. Hopefully, when I get an agent and become published, I would love to have her blurb my book. She loves talking to her fans. Ms. Spindler has two Facebook groups--Secret Spindler Society and Spindler's Street Sirens. I would love to meet her someday.
My favorite book by Spindler is her latest, Watch Me Die. I rate it five stars. It's a real page-turner with a gripping storyline. If you haven't read any of her work, you're missing out on terrific stories. Watch Me Die is now on sale--it was released June 21st, 2011.
