E!'s 2009 Emmy Awards Backstage Drama and Fashion Highlights

E! News reports that there was more going on than met the eye at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards. Though the 61st Annual Emmy awards, which celebrate outstanding work in television, went off largely without incident, (other than Seth MacFarlane dropping the F-bomb on the red carpet, of course!) there were a few note-worthy moments.

Seth MacFarlane made fun of himself and his pre-Emmy four letter faux pas on E!'s "Live From The Red Carpet" coverage, where his f-bomb slipped past the "red button" people and made it on live television, where in some markets, it was barely three in the afternoon. "You give a f**king fantastic interview, Giuliana, you-- you beautiful f**k!"

David Hasselhoff, formerly of Baywatch fame and currently a host on the hit "America's Got Talent", was notably absent at the 2009 Emmy Awards, despite the fact that he himself is quite the television celebrity. E! claims to be able to tell us why.

Apparently, someone called 911 from inside the Hoff's Encino, CA, Sunday afternoon around 3:30 pm, and emergency medical personnel responded. The Hoff's rep denies reports that he was transported to a nearby hospital for alcohol poisoning, saying of the incident, "David wasn't feeling well after mixing two prescription medications."

David Hasselhoff wasn't the only TV star to require medical attention yesterday. E! is reporting that following her 2009 Emmy win, now off-air "Pushing Daises" star Kristin Chenoweth had such a severe migraine that paramedics had to be called to the scene.

In lighter news, though it may not have been seen by home viewers, there was some catty behavior backstage at the 2009 Primetime Emmys E! dishes the dirt on reality star Kathy Griffin's Ryan Seacrest snub and tensions between two DWTS dancers (who used to be engaged...that's not awkward..) before their Emmy performance.

"I was snubbed by Ryan Seacrest," Kathy Griffin related to an E! News correspondent after the 2009 Emmys. "I went up to try and see him in the booth, and they said 'he's only seeing people with appointments'." Don't take it personally, Kathy. Ryan was probably just busy primping for his camera close-ups with less controversial stars such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Heidi Klum and Seal.

Speaking of primping...

Though their 2009 Emmy Awards dance number hit all the right marks, "Dancing With The Stars" ex-lovebirds, Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy reportedly had tiffs both before and after the show. For his part, Maksim was reportedly irritated with how long Karina was taking to get her pre-show hair and make-up done.

Best Dressed

Blake Lively looked stunning in a red, high-slit Versace.

Jennifer Morrison donned a red, one-shoulder Calvin Klein and completed the look with a great up-do.

Olivia Wilde stole the show in a white, sequined Markesa with risque scalloped cut-outs.

Kim Kardashian rocked a very dramatic, one-shoulder mermaid gown with one long, bell-sleeve.

A very pregnant Heidi Klum charmed in a belly-hugging black Markesa.

Drew Barrymore looked sweet in a cupcake-frosting pink Monique Lhuillier with a fitted, strapless bodice and full, tulle skirt.

Worst Dressed

Comedienne Sarah Silverman struck out in a voluminous, almost lumpy sapphire-blue gown. Her mustache was amusing, though!

Leighton Meister fizzled in an over-done Grecian-inspired toga gown. The soft-ball sized knots of fabric on her shoulders looked heavy and distracted from the whole look. Her make-up did nothing to help her out, with harsh red lips and heavily smoked eyes.
