Escape from Dallas to North Richland Hills to Visit the Dive-In Theater and the NRH2O Water Park

Michy Lynn
Dallas, Texas and the entire DFW Metroplex gets hot during the summer, but if you're looking for a great place to beat the heat, instead of thinking about your traditional water parks and your drive-in movie theatres with the air conditioner running on your vehicle wasting that expensive gasoline, why not combine them both and seek out the dive-in theatre? Nope, that's not a typo - you read it right!

You can definitely beat the summer heat in Dallas by taking the short drive from just about anywhere in Dallas to North Richland Hills and visit the NRH2O water park. You're probably thinking, "Oh, just another water park," but this isn't about the water park with slides and pools.

Sure, they have slides and pools, water rides and more. Whether for the little ones-- attractions like the Tadpole Swimming Hole -- or for the brave of heart with attractions like The Great White, there is something for just about everyone of all ages.

Then of course, there are the birthday party packages, the food and snacks, the game room area and all the other fun and attractions a traditional water park has to offer. With admission prices between $15-22.00 for a full day of fun and sun and water, the NRH20 water park is everything you've come to expect from a water park and more.

In fact, during the summer, NRH20 often has fireworks displays in the evenings!

But what really sets NRH2O apart isn't the water park and attractions themselves. What really sets this water park apart is the Dive-In Theatre.

Think about it -- two of your favorite summertime activities in one location, combined together: water park and drive-in movies!

Every Friday evening during the summer, NRH2O projects a family favorite movie on the back wall by the wave machine pool. Park-goers can rent inner tubes for free and even bring a cooler with food and non-alcoholic/non-glass bottle containers and sit in the waves or on the 'beach' and watch favorite family features and cool down from the summer heat.

For more information about NRH2O and the Friday Dive-in Theatre showings, you can visit their website at http://www.nrh2o.com/, and while there, you can take a virtual ride on one of their extreme high-thrill water slides!

NRH20 is located at 9001 Boulevard 26 North Richland Hills, TX 76180, easily reachable between Dallas and Ft. Worth.

I wish I'd known about this place when I lived in Texas. I used to do everything I could to find relief on those 100+ degree days! Combining a waterpark and an outdoor movie theatre sounds like a great idea. That way, you please the kids and parents all at once. :)
