Here is a list of essential tools to perform basic home repair chores.

Combination Pliers - This is a great tool to use to turn, adjust, or remove nails.
Gripping Pliers - These pliers adjust to grip different size nuts, bolts, pipes, and fixtures.
Scraper- This handy tool is used to scrape material off surfaces. For example, loose paint on a wall.
Flashlights - Essential tools for when the power is out. Flashlights are also handy to get a close look in a dark area when making home repairs.
Utility Knife - This is a small sharp cutting tool that might be very useful in an emergency home repair situation.

Hacksaws - Are used to cut through harder surfaces like metal.

Stud Finder - A stud finder helps detect the studs behind walls and below surfaces.
Dust Mask - This item is essential protection to wear for those who paint, saw, or make repairs.
Safety Glasses - These glasses protect eyes during home repairs.
Gloves- A pair of good quality work gloves is essential part of every toolbox. Always wear gloves to protect hands while handling a repair task.
Always purchase the highest quality tools you can afford. This is one way to ensure that tools are well made and get the repair job done. Well-made tools should last for several years while cheap tools might break during the first home repair job.
