Essie Nailpolish - Summer 2010 Collection

Nicole Lang
Summer is upon us and Essie has its new summer collection of nailpolish for 2010 ready. The six colors vary quite a bit from some fun summer colors and some colors that are not so fun and summery. Although not offered in gel polish, which is my favorite, Essie polishes are all formaldehyde, DBP and toluene free.

Miss Matched: This pretty color is a light pink with a slight mauve shade to it. It looks perfect by itself but is even a pretty color for under a French manicure. It is classic without being boring.

Haute as Hello: This color is a beautiful coral that is light and subtle but noticeable nonetheless. The rich color is one of the prettiest coral polishes I have seen to date. This color will look fantastic on both fingers and toes.

Knockout Pout: This color is a hot pink. It is very similar to quite a few other hot pinks out there. It is pretty but nothing about it is intriguing or different.

Vermillionaire: This color is a darker coral that almost has shades of coral, orange and red. It is pretty and unique enough that it stands out without being too overwhelming. This color would likely get old after a week of wear however.

Demure Vixen: Demure Vixen is a shade of mauve. It is not too light and not too dark however it seems a bit boring and like something that most older women would wear. Pretty but not exactly a color I would consider for the summer collection.

Pretty Edgy: Rounding out the collection of 6 polishes is a dark green. It is a cross between jade and forest green. Green is not my favorite color on nails, however I can see how it would garner some attention. My other issue with this color is that again it is not very summery and probably should not be considered for the summer collection.

Essie is not as common in salons as OPI, however some salons carry both. Essie polishes are sold at www.essie.com or can be bought at most beauty supply stores such as Ulta.
